It Begins

After the generous gift of server space and domain name registration by a friend, setting up my blog via Hugo was a very fun, smooth experience for me. Although initial set-up took me less than two hours, I hold no illusions that my blog structure will finalize by the next week. I embrace this journey, for its already an adventure to explore options I currently am entertaining for my blog. Questions to myself such as, “Should I enable commenting?” or “How can I further protect this blog via OpenSSL and password authentication?”.

I consider this blog not just a living (e-)document to maintain online presence and communication with others I trust, but also as a medium through which I can practice and hone my development skills.

Already, I’m highly intrigued by the ‘Isso’ web application as an avenue to enable commenting on this blog. Its built in python, open-source of course, and similar to Disqus without the tracking hassle involved.

So many things! Can’t do all the things! But I feel so much power and freedom to, ironically, try too many things!
